Émile Durkheim, a French sociologist in the nineteenth century, created the foundation for the modern sociological study of society by focusing on social facts, structures, and systems. His profound ideas generated many concepts and methods in his books especially in The Rules of Sociological ‎Method and Suicide. He applied the model ‎of modern medical thinking for studying deviant behaviors. According to modern medicine, which was formed in the ‎nineteenth century, the process of diagnosing the disease is based on "the pathological and the ‎normality". In this article, we try to show that Durkheim's "social pathology" is based on this ‎model. First we briefly describe the ‎characteristics of "the pathological and the normality" in diagnosis of disease in modern medicine. We ‎then show this medical model influences Durkheim's functionalist approach for studying deviant behaviors, or actions «آسیب‌شناسی اجتماعی» یکی از شاخه‌های مهم علوم اجتماعی است که به بررسی مسائل و مشکلات اجتماعی می‌پردازد. امیل دورکیم از بنیانگذاران جامعه‌شناسی در قرن نوزدهم، این موضوع را برای نخستین بار به‌طور مدوّن و روشمند در کتاب‌های <em>قواعد روش جامعه‌شناسی </em>و <em>خودکشی</em> مورد بررسی قرار داد. ویژگی مهم کار وی به کارگیری الگوی تفکر پزشکی مدرن است. براساس پزشکی کلینیکی (مدرن) که در قرن نوزدهم شکل گرفت، فرایند تشخیص بیماری بر امر آسیب‌شناختی و امر بهنجار قرار داده شده است.<br /> <br /> در این مقاله می‌کوشیم تا با بکارگیری روش تطبیقی<strong>−</strong>انتقادی نشان دهیم که «آسیب‌شناسی اجتماعی» مورد نظر دورکیم براساس همین الگو شکل گرفته و قوام یافته است. بدین منظور مقاله از سه بخش تشکیل شده است: در بخش نخست ویژگی‌های امر آسیب‌شناختی<strong>−</strong>امر بهنجار در تعریف و تشخیص بیماری در پزشکی مدرن به‌طور اجمال شرح داده می‌شود. سپس چگونگی تأثیر این آموزه پزشکی در رویکرد کارکردگرایانه دورکیم در بررسی مسائل اجتماعی بررسی می‌شود و در پایان نیز با بیان مطالعه موردی جرم، نشان داده می‌شود که از نظر دورکیم به‌کارگیری رویکرد آسیب‌شناختی<strong>−</strong>بهنجار در علوم اجتماعی با چه پیچیدگی‌ها و مناقشه‌هایی همراه است. https://method.rihu.ac.ir/article_1788_44cdc32b45bc3dafd040f9bfd046c6df.pdf
