Abstract

This essay considers methodology and research approaches of William James in psychology of religion, based on his book “Types of Religious Experience”. His methodology is mostly within the scope of experimental and pragmatic method, as well as phenomenology and spiritual judgment; however, mainly focused on pragmatic method and phenomenology. James’ research approaches are kind of quality researches, utilizing introspective methods, case studies, chain studies, comparative studies, and individual documentation. The essay ends up with some basic and methodological considerations.
