The Nature and Realm of Islamic Education

Author

Abstract

There have been three views of Islamic education. The first view considers Islamic education as a system which can be achieved through the careful study of the works of Moslim thinkers. The second view looks at Islamic education as an inferential system, according to which an answer can be given to educational problems drawing upon various religious texts. The third view takes slamic education as an inferential - established system in which some issues related to education can be abstracted, and considers it empirical to have an access to some other issues.
In this article, the writer seeks to have a glance at the nature and history of Islamic education as an academic discipline, taking into consideration research methods and their achievements.
