The content analysis method is one of the most applicable research methods in social science. In the current educational system of the country, textbook is the most important means of education that contains the curriculum content. Therefore, analysis of textbook content, for purposes such as conforming to the curriculum goals or recognizing the strengths and weaknesses of textbooks, is critical. The content analysis method is one of the most common ways in which this analysis can be performed.
In this article, content analysis has been introduced and common techniques and methods of textbook content analysis have been described. In this introduction, all techniques and methods have been divided into two main groups of indexing tools and readability formulas. Specifications, attributes and applications of indexing tools are explained in this article.
