In the present paper, following a brief discussion of the nature and status of the Futures Studies and short exploration of the general methods used in this field and the degree of the validity their results, I shall turn my attention to a key question, namely, the most important reason for crediting Human Sciences over and above all other sciences. In the light of my response to this pivotal question, in the rest of the paper, I shall try to provide a number of guidelines for preparing the ground for the construction of a truly fruitful Human Sciences.
