Having defined the literal and conceptul meaning (sense) of tolerance, this article casts light on locus of tolerance in the words and life-style of the Infallibles (Ma`su¦min) (upon them be peace) through the study of historical examples, and makes a distinction between to lerance towards others and tolerance towards oursselves, and comes to deal with tolerance in such cases as tolerance in explaining religious problems, tolerance in observing Friday prayer and ritual prayers, tolerance in providing children with a devotional education, telerance in treating certain people of various degrees of faith and tolerance in preaching. The article comes to an end with discussion on the limits of educational tolerance in view of such constituents as `ignorance and knowledge, physical ability and degrees of faith, and deals in brief with the deucational consequences of tolerance.
